EARTHDANCE DC :: saturday 26 sept at Dahlak!

Dahlak (1771 U St, NW, at 18th & Florida) has moved their scheduled event for this Saturday to another night — the management was very excited to hear about Earthdance and what it stands for. We will be opening doors at 6:30pm, with the Global Prayer at 7pm. Our selected charity for this year is YWDEP (Young Womens' Drumming and Empowerment Project), whose work in the DC urban youth population has impacted the lives of many young women already.

Our schedule for the night is:

6:30pm :: Doors open
7pm :: Earthdance Global Prayer for Peace
7:15pm :: Drum Call for Justice (Kristen Arant, Exec. Director of YWDEP)
7:30pm :: Open Mic featuring Guerilla Poetry Insurgency, Subcontinental Drift and Meso Creso artist collectives.
9pm - 2:30am :: v:shal kanwar & mr darko

$5 minimum donation

hi all,

an update and some good news for Earthdance DC!

as some of you already know, our original venue for Earthdance DC ended up being double-booked with another event, so we were forced to find another venue the same week that we were all to be at Burning Man! after some running around and a few favors being called, i'm happy to announce that Earthdance DC IS GOING TO HAPPEN! We too believe that it's important for this message to be heard in Washington, DC so please do help get the word out as much as possible!
