Have you been to an Earthdance event? If so, where was it and how many times have you been? (If you are an Earthdance promoter - tell the community here!)

Co-founder and board of Earthdance non-profit org and LLC. The story begins for me In spring 1997, when filmmaker (and now yoga teacher) Kia Miller showed up at my door in Laurel Canyon, West Hollywood. She had come to LA from London, and Chris Deckker (ED founder) had asked her to find people to help with the first Earthdance festival, to be held a few months later. She approached me because of my work with the Rainbow Warrior Festival in the late 80s. Kia put me on the phone with Chris in London, and he told me his vision for ED. Before the call ended I agreed to advise and support him with ED, and to represent his band Medicine Drum. Since then, 12 years ago, my life has been more Earthdance than anything else.

What causes are you passionate about?

Peace-building. Compassion. Lets get beyond our value judgments. The longer I live, the less I know. I believe that no matter how enlightened we may be, there is only a small degree of difference in consciousness between any two people here. We are each a work in progress. No path, no philosophy, no experience holds the whole truth. Lets all come down to Earth together and figure out the best way forward, with love.

What do you like to do for fun?

Be with my little family. Think thru the conundrum. Spelunk alternate realities. Music.

What features would you like to see on EDNet?

A marketplace of people and organizations exchanging ideas, events, music, visual media, services, products, in alignment with peace and peace-building.

What initiatives would you like to see from the Earthdance Community?

A Prayer for Peace re-mix and/or re-recording project, for anyone in the community who wants to do a version, in any genre. And a similar Prayer for Peace video project.

Below are some videos from the Rainbow Warrior Festival, that I co-conceived and produced from 1989 to 1992 at the Paolo Soleri Amphitheater in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA (with additional events in LA, Joshua Tree desert, and the UN in NY). This was our conscious earth festy (pre-trance!). Earthdance was the next step on my journey.

Featuring: actor LeVar Burton (Roots, Star Trek The Next Generation, Reading Rainbow), author Ken Carey (Starseed Transmission, Return of the Bird Tribes), Native American actor and music artist (the late great) Floyd Westerman Red Crow (Dances With Wolves, Oliver Stone's The Doors), and music artist Eliza Gilkyson, my partner in Rainbow Warrior along with the amazing Jeffrey Bronfman.

These videos just resurfaced on YouTube (thanks Chance!). I offer these messages from our family 20 years ago, to the Earthdance community today.
