EarthDance Manila Hosts 3rd Monthly Global Synchronized Meditation

On June 27 2009 Earthdance Manila hosted the 3rd monthly Global Meditation for Peace. The event started propmptly at 3pm (12 am Pacific Daylight TIme) and lasted almost 3 hours. Held in my home and healing sanctuary, we had 23 people in attendance. The ceremony opened with greetings to everyone here and around the world and some welcome remarks. On behalf of Earthdance Manila, we are very honored and grateful for the opportunity to host this month's meditation and share ourselves, and our culture with the world. For those present who were not familiar with Earthdance, a brief background was given after which the session began.

We opened witih a discussion on free form movement as meditation facilitated by author, healer and Philippine pioneer for Movement Therapy and Crystal Healing, Riza Regis. The group was led through a variety of movement and breathing exercises to preprare the mind and body for deeper meditation. This was followed by a meditation on the Heart Sutra led by Lama Yeshe Lhundrup, meditation teacher and founder of Rigpa, a community dedicated to compassionate living, consciousness through meditation, as well as socio-ecological transformation. Tibetan singing bowls echoed in the background.

The last half of the session was free flowing with Inner Dance, a spontaneous healing and meditative dance accompanied with live druming and music by Diango Valmores, one of the Philippines pioneers for world music, and founding member of indigenous group Diwata…Anak ng Tribu.

The ceremony, which was a convergence among communities, closed with a prayer for peace and earth healing, along with a Unity Blessing by Lama Yeshe. DNA Activation music was played throughout the finale to see participants off and bless them on their way.

We had 150 views on our online stream, which lasted almost 3 hours. The footage will be edited and uploaded soon so those who missed out can still meditate and inner dance with us.
